TransVoice Support

Last updated: 2026-03-20

This page is intended for the official support site and in-app help center. It covers quick start steps, common actions, Pro purchase help, and basic troubleshooting.

1. Product Overview

TransVoice is an iPhone app for speech transcription and translation. It supports:

  • live recording and transcription;
  • transcription from imported audio or video files;
  • multilingual translation;
  • speaker diarization; and
  • export to SRT and Markdown.

On supported devices, TransVoice builds its core workflow on Apple's official Speech framework, Apple's official Translation framework, and on-device Core ML models. When the required language resources and models are installed, transcription, translation, and speaker diarization are intended to stay on device, and TransVoice does not send that content to third-party AI services.

2. Quick Start

When you open the app for the first time, grant the permissions needed for the features you want to use:

  • Microphone: for live recording and transcription
  • Speech Recognition: to convert speech into text
  • Photos / Files access: to import existing media

Live Recording

  1. Open the home screen.
  2. Start a recording from the recording entry point.
  3. Choose the transcription language and, if needed, a translation language.
  4. Review the transcript while recording.
  5. Stop the session and continue in the preview screen.

Importing Audio or Video

  1. Open the import entry from the home screen.
  2. Choose an audio or video file from Files or Photos.
  3. Set the transcription language, translation language, and speaker diarization option if needed.
  4. Wait for processing to finish, then review the result in preview.

3. Translation Resource Help

If a translation language appears unavailable or requires a download, use Apple’s built-in Translate app to download the needed language resources first.

Once the resources are available, translation is intended to continue on device.

Suggested flow:

  1. Open the Translate app.
  2. Add the language you need.
  3. Download the language resource.
  4. Return to TransVoice and try again.

4. Speaker Diarization Help

Speaker diarization works best for imported audio or video with multiple clear speakers, such as meetings, interviews, or panel discussions.

  • Before first use, make sure the speaker diarization model resources are available.
  • If the result is not ideal, rerun speaker diarization from the preview screen and adjust the sensitivity.
  • Live recording does not necessarily provide the same speaker-separation workflow as imported files.

5. Preview and Export

From the preview screen, you can:

  • play or pause audio;
  • jump by timestamp;
  • review source and translated text; and
  • export audio, SRT subtitles, or Markdown.

If you plan to continue into editing, writing, archiving, or AI-assisted summarization, Markdown or SRT is usually the most practical export option.

6. Privacy and On-Device Processing

TransVoice is designed so that its core speech workflows run locally on your device by default.

  • Speech transcription uses Apple's official Speech framework and locally available language models.
  • Translation uses Apple's official Translation framework and local resources downloaded through Apple's Translate app.
  • Speaker diarization uses on-device Core ML models for offline inference.
  • TransVoice does not send user audio, transcript text, or translated text to third-party AI services.

If some Apple language resources are not installed yet, iOS may prompt you to download them through Apple's own flows. Those flows may involve Apple services; please refer to Apple's privacy documentation for the platform-specific details.

7. TransVoice Pro and Billing Help

Based on the current product design, TransVoice Pro adds:

  • advanced speaker diarization controls;
  • batch transcription;
  • more export formats;
  • Siri Shortcut recording; and
  • additional app icons.

Purchase Types

  • Monthly: auto-renewable subscription
  • Yearly: auto-renewable subscription
  • Lifetime: one-time purchase

Manage a Subscription

Open your Apple account subscription settings on iPhone to manage, cancel, or review the current subscription state.

8. Frequently Asked Questions

Why can’t live transcription start?

Check the following first:

  • microphone permission is granted;
  • speech recognition permission is granted; and
  • the device is not restricted by system settings.

Why are some translation languages unavailable?

In most cases, the required language resources have not been downloaded yet. Install them first through Apple’s Translate app.

Is my audio or transcript sent to a third-party AI service?

No. TransVoice's core transcription, translation, and speaker diarization workflows are intended to run on device and do not send your audio, transcript text, or translated text to third-party AI services.

Why is speaker diarization not accurate enough?

Quality can be affected by audio clarity, background noise, overlapping speech, and recording distance. Try:

  • using a cleaner source recording;
  • rerunning speaker diarization with adjusted sensitivity; and
  • choosing media with clearer speaker boundaries.

Which file formats are supported?

Common audio and video formats that iOS can decode are typically supported, including M4A, WAV, MP3, MP4, and MOV. Actual compatibility still depends on the file encoding and system support.

9. Troubleshooting Checklist

If something is not working as expected, try this first:

  1. Update the app to the latest version.
  2. Verify that the selected language is correct.
  3. Make sure the required model or system language resources are installed.
  4. Restart the app and try again.
  5. Test with a shorter and cleaner media file as a comparison case.
